If you vote for Obama you are complicit in this. If you vote for McCain this is what *YOU* want.
There are three candidates in the race for president that are left who will bring troops home starting day one. They are Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, and Mike Gravel.
What do YOU want?

This is such a compelling video Scott. Thanks for sharing it.
Kucinich is actually the candidate closest to my personal political beliefs and I've been mulling over voting for him in the primary since Obama is pretty much the democratic shoo-in in Illinois anyway.
I'm not sure though, if bringing all the troops home on day one is the best approach in the long term. I do want to see withdrawl plans from the new president starting day 1, and an incremental withdrawl strategy. But I also don't want it to be reminiscent of the fall of Saigon where we just split. I'd also like to see some of those troops re-deployed to Afghanistan... a country that actually WANTS our help and that we abandoned for the second time in a generation.
YAY! Ron Paul got second today!!
Really looking forward to that Empire post.....
Statist candidate A
Statist candidate B
See America, you do have a choice!
btw: Ron Paul.
Boy I am not sure either whether we should split right away. But Scott, why pick on just Obama - at least he was against the war from the very beginning, you should include Hilary Clinton in this too!
Hilary does say she'll bring the troops home ASAP. Now, as for whether any of these candidates will actually do that or not, I don't know. It's much easier said than done, as the Dems found out.
hhmm.. I missed the last debate. she must have changed her mind...that's good because previously she had said it would take about a year to bring them home.
That's what I thought too Missy.
Obama and Clinton have both stated that they could not commit to pulling all troops out of Iraq prior to the end of their first term. That's 2013.
Oh, and Missy, I didn't mean to exclude Clinton from this post, it's just that she's generally not looked at as an "anti-war" candidate like Obama is. Obama prides himself on change.
Ah yeah, you're right...Hilary only mentioned bringing troops home *eventually*. What an overwhelming commitment. ;P
Hey Scott,
Been checking out your blog, nice work. Do you mind if I link back to you?
Weird
Of course you can, some day I might even write here again. :)
