Local fire

A few weeks a go the local lumber yard caught fire and turned into 5 alarm blaze. We didn't get to see it because we were sleeping I think, but there are pictures available on the web if you click here, as well as a press release for download here.

Wow. Hope it wasn't too close. I assume that nobody was hurt?

Apparently, wood burns pretty good. :-)

Yeah, the dried out 120 year old wood the building was made out of burned really really good.

It was about a half mile away and no, no one was hurt that I know of.

great pics! we had a huge fire here this week, too. a 150 year old mill burned to the ground, closed eastbound us-12 for a full day.

Yikes. When a lumber yard goes up, I don't think there's much anyone can do.

It was vacant but did any of the nearby businesses get damaged?

I don't think they were structually damaged, no. There may have been some minimal damage from smoke or maybe water I guess, but from what I heard they are okay.
