In 2002 on the verge of Superbowl XXXVI a couple of local Chicago sports radio guys were in New Orleans for media week covering the Superbowl. In a bit to kind of make fun of Warner's zealous religous beleifs, which the radio guys thought gave the Rams an unfair advantage over the Patriots (since God was on Warner's side obviously), they had a shaman do a hex on Warner on the air. It was, of course, a silly bit and nothing more, right?
Well Warner and the Rams went on to loose that game and since then Warner, who was well on his way to a hall of fame career based on the stats of the previous three years, has seen his career go down the tubes. His record as a starter the year following the hex was a dismal 0-6 and his season was cut short by injuries. The following season he started in one game (which he lost)before being knocked out with a season ending injury again.
