The Huckster Revisted

Last week I posted on the nature of Mike Huckabee's relationship to warmongering Christian Zionist John Hagee. Just how close is that connection?

Huckabee is scheduled to speak at Hagee's church this Sunday.

I predict the winning ticket will be Mike Huckabee with McCain as VP

I don't think Huckabee has the manpower to win the nomination. I know for a fact hes' missing a lot of deligates in Illinois whereas Ron Paul, Rudy, Romney all got the signatures they needed to get a full slate of delegates. You can get all the votes you want, but if you don't have the delegates you don't win the nomination.

I honestly think Huckabee is running for Vice President at this point. My guess is that Romney will win the nomination and he'll pick Huckabee as his VP. Together, of course, they'll suffer one of the most lopsided loses in US election history.

With over 70% of the country favoring withdrawal of all US troops from Iraq within a year, the reality is Ron Paul is the only Republican that can beat any of the Democrats.

Happiest New Year's to you and the crew!
But not to Mr. Huckabee. Dude creeps me out.

That's the funny thing - I really think Ron Paul can beat the Democrats. I don't like any of the other Republicans enough to root for them over the Democrats, so if Paul loses the Republican nomination, I'll probably just vote Libertarian again.

I'd like to offer my condolences...

Is that suppose to be some sort of anti-Ron Paul gloating? If so I'm not sure why. He won 10% of the vote which is much more than anyone ever gave him a chance to do. He beat Giulianni, and maybe more importantly he straight up won the independent vote.

Ultimately though the appeal of Ron Paul has never been that he can win, the appeal of Ron Paul is that he is right. And all a non-Ron Paul presidency means is that the end of the American Empire will be hastened and more financially painful. It's a heavy price that my children and your grandchildren will have to pay to support the empire that you insist is necessary even though it benefits them nothing.

I'm not sure that's something any of us should be gloating about.

Exactly. If he doesn't win the Republican nomination, I'll probably just write him in or vote Libertarian. I'd rather do what's RIGHT than win.

And I agree with Crystal. New post time. I miss your writing. You have so much intelligent stuff to say.

Oh, forgot to say this - I want an American Republic, NOT an Empire. Another reason to like Ron Paul. The Republicrats seem to be about an American Empire.

Well the American Empire will end sooner that later anyway, whether anyone wants it or not. A subject that I'll write about in my next post.

That's exactly what I plan to do too!!!

Yup, I'll probably write Paul in too.

Found you through Donderoooo's site (odd huh?); good stuff here, thanks for writing and supporting Dr. Paul!

Scott,
I was hoping you would write a post on why you're a Ron Paul supporter! I liked the way he spoke at the debates but I felt he got really overshadowed by some of the better speakers: Like, Guiliani.
